A good recipe for pumpkin bread , and bannanas bread. Gotta get some things made. Mom us combg down from CANADA. my brither's dd is in childrens hospital waiting on lung transplant. She has been there for 8 mo now and she had gone Down hill fast. Mom saud she wants to be here close. She has list one GK and she was so fare away. She us hauling her fifth wheel this time so she can stay in it.

Hi JS, I'm sending you these recipes that were my mother's. they were always good - just remember NOT to overbake them...lol
Pumpkin Bread:
3 c.white sugar
1 c. oil (I prefer corn oil)
4 eggs
1.25 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2/3 c. water
2 c. pumpkin
3.50 cups flour
3 tsp. soda
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
Mix ingredients well.
Pour into greased and floured loaf pans (2 standard size) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour
Banana Bread:
.75 c. butter
1.50 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1.50 c. bananas, mashed
.50 c. buttermilk
2 c flour
1 tsp. soda
.75 tsp salt
.75 cup chopped nuts ( pecans or walnuts)
Cream butter and sugar. Blend in bananas,eggs
and vanilla. Sift flour, sugar, soda and salt; add to banana mixture alternately with buttermikk, mixing well after each addition.
Add nuts and mix well.
Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 to 1.25 hours - till golden brown.
