Poem/Recipe: Nuts & Bolts Snack Mix & Coke

Subject: POEM REQUEST

Can I impose on a poet or two to help me out again? I would like a short little poem to attach to a little gift for a couple of teenage neighbours for Christmas. I have made some Nuts and Bolts (snack mix) and bought Christmas Coca Cola glasses and cans of coke to give them and would like a little poem to attach to it? Any ideas???? Thanks in advance.

Fran in al--Here's the recipe for the Nuts and Bolts. This makes an awful lot of the mix. I have doubled it some years and also cut it in half other years. I have used the mix for gifts for neighbours, co-workers, teachers etc. over the years. I usually buy some Christmas tins from the dollar store and give a tin of mix as a gift.

You can use any combination of the following or add your own to get a total weight of about 2100 grams:

Nuts and Bolts Snack Mix

12 oz Cherrios Cereal
6 1/2 oz. Shreddies Cereal
8 oz Corn Chex
12 oz Bugles
6 1/2 oz Pretzel Sticks
7 oz. Pretzel pieces
2 lbs Mixed nuts

Combine in a large roasting pan

2 cups melted butter
1/2 cup Worchestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon seasoned slt
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon Tobasco
Mix well pour over dry ingredients. Toss to mix

Bake in 250 deg. oven for about 2 hours stirring every 1/2 hour. or, divide mixture into 2 roasting pans and then bake it for 1 hour.

What is nuts and bolts made from...besides...the obvious nuts...LOL!!!! sounds good.

Thanks again ladies!!!! The poems are perfect and as there are 3 girls to do the gifts up for, each will get a different poem!

Darlene: I use mixed nuts, bugles, shreddies, cheerios and pretzels. They are baked in the oven with Worchestershire sauce, tabasco sauce, garlic salt and seasoned salt. yummy treat and a Christmas tradition in our home. If you like, I will send you the recipe or post it here. Mega
