QUICK & EASY CROCHETED FRINGED SHAWL

Date Posted: 22:54:44 08/26/04 Thu
Author: jasmineblue
Subject: Super Quick and Easy Crocheted Fringed Shawl *link*

http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/project ... tproj.html

Last night I made one, crocheting in both loops, and it took me 3-4 hours start to finish. Had to "refresh my memory" on crochet, as I have been knitting lately, and had many interruptions from the kids.

Now today I made one just crocheting in the back loops only and it took me 1 1/2 hours, start to finish, with 3 interruptions.

Mind you, I made them without the fringe as I am testing the pattern out to see if I want to make them for my 17 y/o twin neices for Xmas and they probably won't like the fringe.

Great quick last minute gift idea for a female!

Subject: need a pattern for poncho

I am looking for a pattern to make some ponchos for christmas gifts. If anyone has one or knows where I can find one I would appriciate it. They seem to be a big trend now a days. My mom used to make them years ago but can't remember how. Thankyou.

I have already made my two grand daughters ponchos for Christmas, I have a ton of links but the one I am posting has both knit and crochet and it has several, they are really hot this year. Joan

Julie, those are about as cute as they can be. Thanks for posting the site.

Actually they make a cute Thankgiving gag gift.

When hearing what was for Thanksgiving dinner
The Turkey got a sick feeling in his gut
So he decided to get the last word in
And told everyone to kiss his butt!

Anyone else crochet

Subject: Anyone else crochet???

I have been on a crocheting binge....here are a few of the things I have made.......

[> Re: Anyone else crochet??? -- Mother Hen - Dorothy, 08:38:57 12/07/04 Tue [1]

Well I have been Crocheting for 57 years since I was 9.
I only do small things.
I have been making squares , with very different patterns for about 9 months. When I find a very different one I add it to my small pile, to make a 1st ever big piece.
I did make a grape pattern doily with YARN ( in July )and it came out about 30 inches wide. ( for my son & DIL )
For G-Daughters >
The scarves I made are like Jessica Simpsons ( the square block ) and the 8 bar pattern one that looks like the blossom stitch, to me any way.( I just used the stitch idea !!) No Pattern.
I am also Knitting ( self taught )Fun Fur Scarves for my family and friends.
When I knit , it looks like I'm Crocheting, I hold the thread with my left hand. and (Knit-chet) Ha ha ha
I also never sell.

I love to crochet and it's my favorite thing. Been making some Christmas gifts. I could crochet all day! I taught myself a 13. Nobody crochets in the whole family. My mother bought me a book, one pack of yarn and a I needle. I still got the book. I'm 45 now.

[> Re: Anyone else crochet??? -- Marylin, 09:14:02 12/07/04 Tue [1]

I crochet too. I have been crocheting over metal hangers.
Got an oder for 50. Guess I will be busy for a while. Dont get much for them but it occupies my time. Finished a queen size bed spread for my grand dauther. And a poncho for her sister. She put it on immediately, boy was I gloting.

[> Re: Anyone else crochet??? -- jan, 09:16:39 12/07/04 Tue [1]

[> Re: Anyone else crochet??? -- CrazeeMoi, 11:36:52 12/07/04 Tue [1]

Sorry, not able to make and sell them at this time. I am trying to sell my house and move. sigh...plus finish a shawl, a capelet, another hat lol
Deb of PA........ my daughters are finally liking me to crochet them stuff lol they are 23 and 30

I will be making another set of the gloves ....very soon...I will check my directions and then post my pattern
In the mean time... I based them on this pattern...

[> Re: Anyone else crochet??? -- CrazeeMoi, 12:46:25 12/07/04 Tue [1]

Marti.......isnt that kool? I saw on another forum where a girl crocheted a small purse out of t-shirts. So, this past summer as I venture to yard/garage sales I have been buying t-shirts (very very cheap and if I like the color)
Have you crocheted using plastic bags?? those are interesting to make also

Similar to the knitted Magic Scarf

[> Re: ISO info on magic scarves -- grandmalynn, 02:13:00 01/23/05 Sun [1]
Hi,
These sites all take you to the knitted version. I only crochet and would love to make this scarf. I bought a few at Market, but they are not made as well as a handmade one would be. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Lynn

This sounds like it may be same only in crochet

What size doll do you need the pattern for?? Or do you also need the doll itself??

[> Re: BRIDE DOLL PATTERN NEEDED-CROCHET -- Cindy E., 20:19:20 02/09/05 Wed [1]

Here is a link I found on the net:

http://www.fibrecraft.com/dofun/dollsbe ... bride.html

I have not made this one but have made others similar and they are very nice.

If you want one made with thread you could check out:

www.paradisedolls.com

they have some beautiful patterns - I have made two of them and while they are lots of work, they are keepsakes I'm sure anyone would love to receive.

[> Re: BRIDE DOLL PATTERN NEEDED-CROCHET -- ROBBIE, 13:05:32 02/12/05 Sat [1]

it could be either a barbie size doll or the 15/16" one I guess. Thanks Cindy E. for the bump today is the first I have been able to get back on since i posted.
