What a wonderful idea. I was thinking this might also work for drapery tiebacks

Crochet Ring Towel Holders

Subject: dishtowel ring holder search

Some where in the last few weeks I saw on one of my sites a dish towel ring holder. It looked like one of those bone rings with picot edging crocheted around it. Don't remember was it was held up with but I think it was white with red edge. I am looking everywhere to find it. It isn't on Ravelry and I have googled can't find it. Would it have come from this site?

Maybe this one? Was it crochet? I have been thinking how to make one with fabric. http://www.etsy.com/listing/63351786/cr ... towel-ring

Here's a link for a free pattern, similar to the one on Etsy. The foldover part is different...but you can use any pattern you like for the top.

I make LOTS of towel rings for craft shows each year.
Just buy a pkg of plastic canvas circles at the craft store. about $1.00- $1.50 Then cut the center out, but don't cut into the outside 3-4 rows. You now have a ring, Take your yarn and make long SC all the way around, it covers the whole circle, when you push it together so you can't find any spaces join it to the first SC. Ch 3, turn and DC in the next 7 SC, Ch 3 and repeat for a total of 11 rows. the last one, ch 1 turn, then do a SC, HDC, DC, 2 TRCH, DC, HDC and SC. End off. Sew on a button at the top of the circle.

Hope that helps. I make about 50 a year and sell out. That's on top of the crochet towels I make. This year the towels sold more than ever and people were buying 3-5 at a time for gifts.

I made those years ago and I used the rubber gaskets from jars that had the glass lid and bale. Not sure if they still make them, they would hold up longer than plastic canvas.

I have seen Grapevine Wreaths used as Kitchen Towel Holders they just used a ribbon around the top of wreath to hang it, and Decorated the wreath with a few flowers. I am guessing the hole in the grapevine wreath was about 4 inches across?
If you Craft Show girls might want a different idea!
