Innovative idea! At first, I wondered why you would use a flannel backing for the terry towels. Then I realized it would keep the raw edge on the inside so it wouldn't ravel. Or else, it would be necessary to serge or finish stitch the edges. If I make rolled towels, I think I will serge or edge stitch the terry ... because I have a supply of old towels to repurpose.
