Subject: Need Poem help again
I need a key poem for Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. They sell really good and everyone keeps asking for something else. Our poets are so talented and I can't come up with anything I like.
Thanks, MaryLee

You could replace "niece" with the desired name.(ie: aunt, friend, etc) If this is too long I'll try to whip out a short one...or another poet will too I'm sure...just let us know...
I wonder if you realize
What a special niece you are
Your kindness and your caring
Has simply raised the bar
The key to your kind spirit
Is the sweetness of your grace
It shows up in the smiles
You wear upon your face
Because you capture all hearts
Of everyone you touch
Keep this key for always
Because you mean so much!

Ahh Jennifer that is so sweet. I left a space in mine so you can add Auntie, Uncle, Sister, Brother, Grandma etc
I give this little key
To someone nice to know
A very special _______
Someone that I love so

MaryLee,
How do you package your key poems? Do you have a cute graphic? And also, where do you buy your keys? Thanks for your help.

For my special________
I couldn't get you the key to the city
So I'm giving you a key from my heart
May it always remind you of the bond we share
Even if we're far apart!

The last line sounds better reading:
Even when we are far apart.

Thanks to the poets for your help, your poems are really great.
Sandi-
I print out the poems on card stock with a graphic from my Amer Greetings(Wedding Bells, Doctor, Flowers for G-mother, etc) and then I laminate it with my XYRON with two sided laminate. Then I punch a hole in the top and run a picot ribbon through and tie the key to the back of it and into a bow. Then I put the key in a clear bag and staple the price tag on the top that I make out of card stock also and I put Special Key Poem on it. I get my keys from a local auto supply. I was buying them from Walmart two on a card for $.97 but they stopped carrying them. Hope this helps everyone.

Mary Lee,
May I ask you how much you charge for your key poems?

I did some keys for our school fayre last year and I got the keys from the local keycutting shop. I asked if they had any damaged (cut wrong) keys that they were throwing out, they gave them to me so it saved having to buy them. Just thought I'd share this info. HTH

In the store where I sell my crafts I have $2.00 on the key poems. I have them in a pretty basket in order with a list of all the different ones laminated on a card attached to the top of the basket handle so everyone knows what is in there.
I had a hard time finding keys at first and the first ones I made I bought some keys at an antique shop and sprayed them gold. The ones I bought at Walmart were gold coated but they don't carry them any longer that's when I contacted the auto supply and they got me the same keys.
