Subject: Idea: survival kit collages

In an earlier post, Cathy in MT said she wanted a survival kit that was light-weight that she could mail her brother. Well, that got me to thinking: how could we make a customized survival kit, yet make it mail-able? Here's my idea on that:

Start out with a standard sheet of cardstock.
Make a collage with the items listed in a gag gift or survival kit:
...pictures from magazines, catalogs, etc.
...candy wrappers
...rubber stamps
...actual item if them are small - paper clips, rubberbands, bandaids, etc.
Cut out, stamp & glue items onto the cardstock to make a collage.
On the back, list the items & what they are for.

These can be framed, or not. This would be easy to mail & yet could still be personalized.

Additions?

I heard that you could mail 16oz. plastic soda bottles.

Yes, I have used all sizes of plastic bottles. Just have to make sure they are taped shut securely, the addy is legible & there is room for the postage stamps. I wrap the contents in tissue paper, & sprinkle in mylar confetti before I glue the lid on.
