Hi Jazbo,
That is so cute and I need to make a baby present pretty soon. I was wondering how you could make the bassinet part pretty easy. Hey? How about yo-yo's somehow. That would be pretty if I can figure out How? It's a little girl too. Help me and we'll figure out what to do. I thought of
maybe a little batting covered blanket in there too. I'll have to work on some of the stuff to survive. Glad you found that site. I liked the friendship poem too. Thanks if we can come up with some ideas.
LOL and Hugs,

Thanks so much, and good timing. Both my daughters had new babies in the last 3 months.

Hey, Sue. Do you mean the bonnet part of a basinette or buggy? If that is what you are looking for, I would make a large yo-yo & glue it partially around the rim; on the handle side. You would have to experiment to get it the way you wanted before you glue it down. Maybe even use yo-yos for the wheels, instead of buttons.

It looks to me like they just used a square of blue flannel as a 'blanket', then put the things from the poem in it.

The handle looks a bit of a challenge to me. What is the blue stuff? It has wire swirls, glued to the pot. Any ideas?

Kimberly's Printable Label for New Mom Survival Kit in a Bottle

I wanted something different away from the ziploc baggies so I made this label to go around a 20 ounce soda bottle. Just slit the bottle put the goodies in and then afix the label to cover the slit.

Subject: baby shower candygrams??

I have looked in the archives. Would like to make candygrams for a baby shower to use as centerpieces. I need ideas of what candy and if someone could make a poem for it. Or direct me to a site where I can copy a poem. Thanks in advance.

Sorry I have not responded sooner, but have been looking for a baby candy gram. I do not have one so.....here are some candy ideas that perhaps can be made into one. These are just ideas - feel free to change to suit your needs.

Almond joy - share the joy of our new baby
any candy - in our candied (candid) opinion.....
Bubble gum - by gum! this is a special occasion
Chocolate orange - 'orange' you glad it's a (boy/girl)
Hugs
Kisses
Jolly rancher, apple - the baby is the apple of our eye
Lifesaver - in case you get in over your head with late-night feedings, etc.
Mounds - for the mounds of wonderful experiences you have ahead of you
1000 Grand - ain't life grand?
Skittles - for a bright future
Snickers - for when you need a laugh
Sugar babies

Hope these will get you started.

I've made baskets filled with candy and baby items to use as shower centerpieces before. I call them expectant parent survival kits and make tags to attach to each item (for instance...a candle-light for all those hours you'll be up at night....or...Bit O Honey-babies what a sweet way to start people). If this is close to what you are looking for I can post the other items.

Poem & Printable Tag for New Mother's Survival Kit

Subject: need help

I'm invited to a baby shower and have made a New Mother Survival kit. I put everything in a nice basket and I will wrap it with clear plastic wrap with a bow at the top. Now what I would like help with is a card with some clip art on it with a nice saying about this new baby which happens to be her first. I know that all you great poets and artists will be able to come up with something real nice... I can do crafts but when it comes to poetry I'm a real dunce. Thank you all in advance and have yourself a great day and a better tomorrow.....
