Subject: question about spray glues
Can anyone recommend a spray glue that dries clear and does not remain tacky? I have experimented with different ones and so far they all have stayed tacky. I have used them both on felt and fabric to add mica flakes or glitter.
Thank you. Maryann

I have also has a problem with the spray glues. In fact, one year I had to individually wrap wax paper around 35 snowmen to get them to a craft show without them sticking to one another. What a nuisance! Have you tried using hairspray? Some brands are tacky enough to hold and they do dry without being sticky, although they might get a little stiff. I used it on some batting snowmen two years back and it didn't work quite as well as the glues, but it served the purpose and wasn't sticky. I used aerosol spray, not the pump kind that gets pretty wet. It seems that the cheaper the brand, the better it holds. If you are using it on paper, I don't know what it will do or if it will spot, but experiment with it and see if it works for you. It did for me.

Here a thought when it is tacking why not use a hair dyer and see if that will help the drying along..not sure if it would work with hair spray but may be it will

I have had the same problem with the spray glue.I just tried using Clear Coat spray and then the mica flakes and then another spray of Clear Coat. It seems to be holding just fine, not stickey and this was on felt snowmen coats..

Thank you for all the ideas. SuZQ, I have used the aerosol hair sprays. They dry well, but they don't hold as well and eventually the flakes or glitter seem to come off.
Ana, I have also tried blow drying the glue without any luck. MsBlue, I have never tried using Clear Coat spray. I will definitely give it a try. I am glad to find out that I am not the only one having this problem with the spray glues. Thank you all again for your ideas. Maryann
