Subject: need a poem, really bad, please

i have a 50th anniversary plaque that was my mothers. my older sister is having a 50th anniversary party sat. night, she has everything, they do not go out to eat, or go to the movies, she's one of these people that if they want it, they get it. our mother has passed away and i want to pass this down to her. i think it would really have a lot of meaning to have this passed down to her on her 50th. but i need a really nice poem to go with it,thanks, i really really once again need your help.wanda

Today we gather to honor you
for your many years as man and wife.
To celebrate your 50th Anniversary,
and to recall the highlights of your life.

I (we) wanted my (our) gift to be something special.
So I (we) selected one filled with love.
A plaque (plate) that belonged to our mother,
who now watches us from above.

May this gift always be a reminder
of this anniversary day,
and carry with it loving memories of our mother
as it now comes to your home to stay.

I hope that this might be what you were looking for. I think that this is a great idea for a personal and certainly sentimental gift. Maybe it will start a family tradition to pass it on. Have a wonderful time on Sat.

thank you sue, it can't get any better than this, i just love, love, love it. you came through for me, thank you my friend, now i kinow she'll love it, she is the sister of mine that had a stroke a few months back(about 7 months ago)and she has worked really hard to try to get her life back to normal. it has been a slow go.and since she is the oldest child that celebrates the 50th first i though it would be nice to hand it over to her. it can be a gift to her on her 50th,passed down from mom. it will never be a gift for my 50th because it was mine years before and i can't give it to myself, she can say "this was our mothers passed down to me on my 50th" i will never be able to say that.thanks again, it even made me tear up as i read it. great job, HUGS, wanda
