Rock Hard Bath Bombs!

Base Dry Ingredients:
3 c. baking soda
2 c. citric acid
Store in lidded container till ready to use.

Mixing Bath Bombs:

Separate 1 cup of dry ingredients
Mix together: 2 TBS. sweet almond oil or light oil(I use Safflower)
1/8 tsp. scent
8 drops food coloring

Add to dry ingredients
Mix well with hands
Press into molds. Makes 8 little Walmart mold shapes. Knock out.
I spray them with a little Pam or Mike Lawson's food release oil.
Let dry 24 hrs.

Bath Bombs

1/4 C baking soda
2 T citric acid (called "sour salt" in the kosher food aisle)
1 T borax
2 T Powdered sugar
2 T almond oil or olive oil
1 t vitamin E (or skin so soft)
1/4 t essential or perfume oil

Combine dry ingredients. Drizzle almond oil previously mixed with
vitamin E and fragrance and mix well. Take teaspoon sized globs and form
into balls with your fingers. (Mixture is very crumbly, so do the best
you can). Place these on wax paper and let harden 2 or 3 hours, then
reshape again. Let dry completely, about 10 days. Store in an airtight
container. To use, drop 1 or 2 into the bath and enjoy.
I like to press this mixture into little candy molds. I increase about 4
times to make a batch.

Bath Melts

I've made bath melts and wrapped them like candies. I package them up about 6 per package. Here is the recipe I use:
1 part shea butter
2 parts cocoa butter
EO or FO

Melt butters then add EO or FO and pour into candy molds. You may have to put molds in freezer if you have difficulty with releasing from molds.

Bath Bombs

Here is the recipe I used. I pushed them into a mold then popped them
straight out and left to dry. No problems whatsoever.

1) to make a bath bomb you need to start with a base mixture to which
you add different colors and fragrances to create individual bombs.
Before you start, make Sure that all your equipment is dry, because any
drop of moisture will start the Mixture fizzing.
2) Make the base mixture by sieving together 1½ cups of bicarb soda and
one cup of citric acid into the large mixing bowl. Stir well with a
spoon until thoroughly mixed. This is enough to make four bath bombs.
Any left over mixture can be stored in an air tight container ready for
later use.
3) Transfer ½ cup of base mixture into the medium size bowl and set
aside.
4) Using the small bowl:
For an orange bath bomb:
Mix together 6 drops of orange essential oil, 2 teaspoons of sweet
almond oil, 5 drops of red food coloring and 7 drops of yellow food
coloring. Mix well using the teaspoon.
For a lemon bath bomb:
Mix together 6 drops of lemon essential oil, ½ teaspoon of sweet
almond oil and 15 drops of yellow food coloring. Mix well using the
teaspoon.
For a lime bath bomb:
Mix together 6 drops of lime essential oil, ½ teaspoon of sweet
almond oil and 15 drops of green food coloring. Mix well using the
teaspoon.
5) Pour the oil mixture of your choice into the medium bowl containing
the ½ cup of base mixture. Stir very quickly so that the mixture doesn't
start to fizz.
6) Continue mixing with your fingertips, working the oil mixture into
the base mixture until it starts to come together and stays compressed
when squeezed (about 30 seconds).
7) Wipe some sweet almond oil around the inside of the mold. This will
make sure the bath bomb will slip out easily from the mold. Now press
the mixture into the mold.
8) Fill the mold 1/3 at a time with the mixture, pressing down firmly
as you go. When you reach the top of the mold, neaten the edges, turn
the mold over, bang firmly on a flat surface and the bath bomb will
slip out.
9) Let it set for 24 hours. It is then ready to use!
10)These bath bombs make great Christmas presents.
Bicarb soda (from supermarket baking section)
Citric acid (from supermarket baking section)
Sweet almond oil (from Body Shop or local chemist)
Essential oils (orange, lemon and lime, from health food stores or
local chemist)
Packet of food coloring (from supermarket baking section)
Mixing bowls: small, medium and large
Mixing spoon
Sieve
Measuring cup and teaspoon
Mold (we used a small aluminum jelly mold)
These bath bombs cost around $1.00 each to make using ingredients
shown.

Bath Bombs

1/4 C baking soda

2 T Powdered sugar
2 T almond oil or olive oil
1 t vitamin E (or skin so soft)
1/4 t essential or perfume oil

Bath Bombs

1 3/4 cups baking soda
1/4 cup cornstarch
3-4 drops food coloring
"some" fragrance oil
1/2 cup citric acid

Mix it all around with your fingers (or a spoon). Take special care to break up the food color "blobs"; it tends to clump! Once it's mixed to your satisfaction, MIST it heavily with a plant mister (spray bottle)
filled with witch hazel. Mist until it's about the consistency of VERY wet sea sand (like you'd make a sand castle with ...), and it easily retains an imprint when you poke your finger into it.
Now, add your citric acid. Put in 1/2 cup, and mix *thoroughly*. Once it's mixed, start pulling some out and putting it into your molds. (I use the small, heart-shaped, four cavities to a mold Wal-Mart molds for this). Really PUSH it in there with your finger tips; this makes the top surface smoother, and creates better adhesion.
Leave them in the mold about three or four minutes, then *carefully* invert them onto a hard surface (like a cookie sheet), holding them into the molds with your fingers until they are RIGHT on the surface of the
cookie sheet, and then pushing them out. (This sounds stupid, but it's important that they not "fall" onto the cookie sheet from any distance, since they are still very fragile at this point).
Once you have all of them onto a cookie sheet or other object, stick them in a warm, dry place to harden for about 24 hours. (I put them in my gas oven, left *off*. The pilot light provides enough heat to dry them out
nicely.) After that, I either use them or wrap them in colored Reynold's Wrap and save them.
BTW, if you add some sodium carbonate (washing soda) to the mix instead of some of the sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), you'll have almost exactly
the same recipe as is used in some of the Bath & Body Works bath bombs!!

NO MESS 'SOLID' BODY SCRUB

(remember, amounts are approx.)
1 1/2 cups epsom salt
1/2 cup cane or turbinado sugar
1/4 cup solid coconut oil? (I buy it in a 455ml container and use a little less
than a quarter of the tub per recipe..like I said..lol..amounts are approx.)
1 tablespoon cocoa butter
1 1/2 teaspoons almond oil
1 teaspoon glycerine
2-3 capsules of vitamin E
25-30 drops of fragrance (depending on whether or not you need to add more

epsom salt at the end of the recipe and how strong you want it to smell..I
usually just mix my desired scent together(amonting to 30 drops) put it in a
small dropper bottle and continue to add until it 'smells right' )
-mix the salt and sugar together in a bowl.
-add half the fragrance oil to salt and sugar mixture and mix thoroughly*
-incorprate all the oils together and melt in a bain marie only until almost
completely disolved, remove from heat and then stir until completely melted.
you should be able to stick your finger in the mixture without burning
yourself(although don't try this with out making sure it isn't too hot
first..lol)
alternately you can do it in the microwave on high at 50% for 20 second
intervals. be careful though..I've had my microwave spark a couple of times.
-when oils are comfortable to touch add the rest of the fragrance mixture to
it.
incorperate wet and dry ingredients, adding more epsom or oil as necessary.
*my friend's favorite fragrances are:
-vanilla rose (15 drops vanilla, 5 drops rose, 2 drops melon. smells like
vanilla still but not a sickly sweet one),
-neroli orange (2 drops vanilla, 15 drops orange, 5 drops neroli)
-mocha-latte (10 drops expresso fragrance, 3 drops vaniila, 7 drops chocolate,
2 drops cinnamon)

store in an air tight container. I always tell the people I give this to that
if they want it to last longer, not to put wet hands in it. I provide them with
a small single use container that they can use for the shower and tell them to
put it in that before the get themselves wet. so far I've had no problem with
bacteria contamination. most of my friends like it so much they use it up
within a month..lol..

HEAVY DUTY GARDENERS HAND CREAM

2 Tablespoons of shaved beeswax
1/2 Teaspoon of carnuba wax
2 Tablespoons of jojoba oil
1 Teaspoon of aloe vera gel
10 drops of Vitamin E oil ( or 4 capsules)
1 drop of your favorite essential oil for fragrance

Melt the first four ingredients in a stainless steel pot on the stove or use a
glass pyrex cup in the microwave. Remove from heat and beat until cool, adding
the Vitamin E oil before mixture thickens. Continue beating until this mixture
becomes creamy. Add your favorite essential oil, continue beating until cream
has completely cooled. Spoon your cream into a jar, store in a cool dark place

SCENTED DUSTING POWDER

1 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon orrisroot powder
1/4 teaspoon essential oil (your choice of scent)
Place cornstarch and orrisroot powder in the blender and blend on low speed.
With the blender still running, slowly add the essential oil. When well
mixed, pour the powder into a clean container.

Bath Powder Recipe 2:

The above quantities are provided as a guideline. Basically, you want to use
equal parts of baking soda and cornstarch, adding about 20 drops of
fragrance oil for each cup of the mixture. Combine baking soda and
cornstarch together in a bowl and mix together until thoroughly blended. If
desired, add fragrance oil and stir until thoroughly blended. Let dry before
packaging.

Bath Powder Recipe 3:

* 1/2 cup cornstarch
* 2 tbsp arrowroot powder
* 2 tbsp baking soda
* A few drops of essential oils of your preference
Combine ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Let stand a few days and then
sift through a flour sifter. Pour into a powder shaker/container.

Baby Powder
* 2 tbsp crumbled dried chamomile flowers
* 1/4 cup cornstarch
* 1 tbsp orrisroot
* 1/2 tsp alum
Mix ingredients together in a bowl. Sift and store in powder shaker. Use to
keep baby's skin soft and dry.

STRESS PILLOWS

Items needed:
Scissors
Needle & Thread or sewing machine
Rice
Flax seeds
Peppermint
Spearmint
Chamomile
Cinnamon
Lemon Grass
Rosemary
Valerian Root
Saw Palmetto Berries
White Willow Bark
Yellow Dock Root
Yarrow

Make the pillow the size you choose. I did about 6 inches X16 inches.
The one I bought was 5" X 12" I liked the drop bigger size.
The ingredients on the package showed all the above but for the Rice.
I used mostly rice and added some flax seeds. This makes the BULK of
your stuffing.
Sew 3 sides and almost all of the 4th side. Use a funnel to put your
ingredients in.
I added alot of the Peppermint and Spearmint. Maybe 1/2 cup. Then
added alittle less of the Chamomile about 1/3 cup. I then added
Cinnamon. My mistake was using the ground Cinnamon. This made for a
powdery mess. I had to beat the pillow outside when done so the fine
Cinnamon powder could go through the pours of the material. Next time
I will use Cinnamon roots and break them up or make shavings of the
roots. You may also use Cinnamon sticks use about 2-3 sticks. I added
a moderate amount of Lemon Grass and Rosemary about 1-2 tablespoons
each. Valerian Root, Saw Palmetto Berries, White Willow Bark, Yellow
Dock Root, Yarrow each add about 1 teaspoon and decrease to make the
Yarrow the least amount used.
Look up what each is used for and add or subtract as your need is.
Fill the pillow with a funnel and sew up by hand or machine the
opening.
When I asked at an herbal shop I was told the amounts of these herbs
was so slight it probably wouldn't make a difference in adding them
or not. I can tell you that these are expensive to make if you add
the last ingredients. I bought the tea of most of these as that is
all the herbal shop had. I bet I spent just over $50 or so to make a
bunch of these. when I make them again I honestly believe I will
leave out these last ingredients.
These make lovely gifts and are very quick to make if you use a
sewing machine. I love to make them out of flannel instead of cotton.
Heat them for 3 minutes and they will stay hot up to 45 minutes. One
can also place the herbal pack in a freezer bag and put in the
freezer. They remain cold about 20 minutes.
These are nice also on a trip as you can heat them up in the gas
station convience stores. They are great foot warmers in the winter.
They help sprains, menstral crapms, etc., during the year and when
made with all the herbs are wonderful sinus packs. I place them over
my face and they are heavenly
