Subject: Poem about teachers like moms?
Hi.
I just found this board and it's neat. I remember a long time ago I read a poem somewhere about how teachers are like moms, they nurture our children and help them grow. Maybe it was in a magazine or somewhere online? I'd really like to find this poem or maybe someone can make one up. It would be greatly appreciated!
thank you,
Claire

Deep within a teacher's heart
A mother's love resides
She loves and nurtures children
And she watches them with pride
Her job is one that goes beyond
Their academic best
Managing their daily needs
Can put her to the test
She listens to their problems
And celebrates their joy
There's room enough inside her heart
For every girl and boy

Very nice Jen. Here's my attempt. Hope they help Claire:
Children are like seeds
needing care to grow,
teacher’s fill their minds
with what they need to know.
Guiding each child to learn
in a nurturing and caring way,
helping each one shine
each and every day.
As the children get older
lessons they will recall,
and with thanks to a teacher
they’ll stand confident and tall.

If parents worked with teachers
what a great world could be achieved,
each giving care and nourishment
helping dreams to be believed.
Providing a safe environment
for every child to grow,
supporting one another
and sharing all they know.
Both committed to the growth
of a child’s young mind,
removing doubt or confusion
with teachings firm but kind.
And the adults of tomorrow
would be so confident and strong,
with a sense of community
and a belief that they belong.
Teachers and parents
unite and make a stand,
for the future of our youth
is resting in your hand.
