I love to make birds, and I have had success with glue for felt birds if I don't have the time for stitching. I made a bunch of white felt birds for my Christmas tree. Just 2 layers, with a tummy opening for stuffing with a wisp of fiber fill. Then opening glued shut and flat opalescent beads glued on for eyes. The cute 3-piece felt birds in this video are hand stitched. I will probably try gluing these as well.

The fabric store has felt "squares" in various colors, but they are flimsy. You can fuse two together with fusible web.

It's not too difficult to stuff a small bird and use a long pin to poke through and tease into place. But I found a much better way to lightly stuff larger bunnies. I use a tube (Fasturn purchased years ago but any will do.) Insert the tube to the farthest part of the "softy" and poke in a little bit of fiber fill and blow.

A sew buddy made lots of fabric dogs to donate to a hospital. They were stuffed rather solid, and that took forever. I knew there had to be a quicker way when I began making birds.

Anyway, TFS the link to the birdie video ... and the various patterns and tutorials referenced there.
