OTHER USES FOR SCRAPBOOKING PAPER

Subject: scrapbook paper

As I wander into the scrapbook sections of the stores , I am amazed at all the beautiful papers there are for crafting. Especially the 8 1/2 x 10 etc.
I was wondering if anyone out there did anything with those papers except scapbooking. I am not into that.
Would love to hear other ideas for those. Seems such a waste. I am surprised at myself for not coming up with ideas by now, knowing me.
How about it gals.

I scrapbook so I have lots of paper around but I also use the beautiful paper to cover and line boxs. You can take just a plain old box (small one) and turn it into something that most of the time they like better than the gift. (not that I give bad gifts,LOL they just like the box)You can get any color/style paper, add a few embellishments and walla, you have a neat package. My SIL also used the paper to wallpaper her DD's doll house. You never know where the paper is going to show up at our house. LOL

OO i use that paper all the time ..U can cut the large paper into the size to put into the computer and print onto it , sometimes cut out the designs and paste them on wood or other things ..they are pretty ...u can also use it on photo frames ....

I use the paper for alot of things~ mostly for cards, a good idea is to get some paper with designs like hearts or flowers and cut them out and use on cards. Another idea is to mount a picture or two on a piece of paper and put in a frame. I have put a picture and a nice poem on a piece of scrapbooking paper, frame it and give as a gift (I put a picture of my dad and my son with a nice poem about grandpas and gave it to my dad for his birthday).

Thanks gals for the tips. I knew I should be able to put them to use, especially since our dollar stores here in Canada are selling the stuff.
Your all so helpful to everyone checking into this site.

Meow..meow..hiss hiss. LOL Take it easy yall.
I've been hit by the scrapping bug in the worst way this year.

I have used the fancy paper for different other idea too like the above mentioned cards, also I cut cardstock to size to fit a celophane bags punch two holes in them and pin my crafty pins to them I use a coordinating color as the bag topper.

I also made some Post-it note holders with the heavy duty card stock.

Another idea might be bookmarks.

I am also on a really tight budget, but have found a few ways to save $ on my scrappin addiction. I get a ton of supplies at the dollar store and lately they have been carrying alot of scrappin related stuff like 3 count templates, glue stick, stickers, printed paper, gel pens and fancy scissors. I get big packages of 25 assorted color card stock in 50 count packages for 4.59 at Walmart (I think they call it their starter pack?). Another idea is to swap with someone eles things you are'nt going to use. Gracie was sweet enough to swap with me scrappin supplys, bless her wonderful heart she sent some beautiful things. Some on-ine scrappin supply stores and manufactures send free samples I have got quite a few of those this past year. Keep a look out for those 1/2 off one item coupons from Michaels and JoAnns.

I can't wait till my work hours increase again and I am making more than just enough to pay bills. I have been drooling over all the cool new scrappin supplys on the market lately, kinda like a kid drooling over all the cool toys in the Toys R Us flyer LOL.

I get my stuff at Wal-Mart and I have only limited money too. Not into scrapbooking but I'd like to make a small one of varied pictures of me & other stuff. I know the 50 pack paper, buy the 8-1/2 x 11 for my printer.
I think it's cool the Annie makes her own--I haven't the space to do it where I live. Besides I can just imagine my cat trying to 'help'.

I'm addicted to the scrapbook paper...and I don't scrapbook at all. I use it for candy wrappers....saves on ink and makes for beautiful backgrounds and Hand made card inserts.
