Hi I remember making those years ago. I made bowls and plant pots. What fun. I used the record for the pot itself. With a hole in the bottom it was great. I am going to have to try it again. Thanks

This reminded me of something I had seen on HGTV awhile back on Crafters Coast to Coast. It is a lampshade made out of clear (not opaque or metallic) Mardi Gras beads. Check out this link:

I've always wanted to try this on a smaller scale, like maybe for suncatchers?
I'll add it to the list of "One of these days...."

Melanie,
Do you think you could paint this? If so, I wonder what kind of paint would work? Maybe the spray paints they have for plastic?
Hugs,
LJ :o)

I bet you could use the spray paints for plastic or maybe even acrylics if you put a sealer on them. I painted some plastic flower pots for outside and they lasted a long time til tooo many skateboards hit them. Oh well they were cheap.

Hey LJ!
I think you could paint them too with spray paint! That stuff works on almost anything!!

I can't wait til garage sales season so I can get some records!! (I do not have any!)

That is adorable, the thrift store has tons of old albums and 45 rpms, guess where I am going tomorrow, what a cute container for a teen's birthday which is coming up for me. Thanks so much for this great idea. Joan

Hi Everyone - Was wondering...don't you think you could decopodge it also after it is shaped? Thought I might try do this if you ladies think it would work. I have some real pretty tissue paper that I thought might work real well for this.

We don't have squirrels here, but wouldn't it look good spray painted, turned upside down and put above your bird feeders to stop the squirrels?

What a neat idea - I gotta head to the thrift store for some records!
I think the decoupaging would work just fine - I do it on plastic animals and I don't think it would be any different.

Poem: Record Bowl for Cheerleader

Subject: Need Poem Please

I need a poem quick, hate to ask at the last minute but just found out about this. My great neice is trying out for cheerleader for her junior high and I am going to make the vinyl record bowl and fill with hug and kisses, I am sure she will make it so I want it to say something along the lines of congratulations, hugs and kisses and you rock. Something with those words in it. Hope I make sense, I am clueless about poems. Joan

Just saw this. Hope I'm in time!
Kelli

I'm sure you'll break the 'record'
As the best they've ever found
Since you're now a member of
The best cheer squad around!
We KNOW that you're the greatest
'Cause we've been taking stock!
So congrats and hugs and kisses!
My sweet niece,you really rock!

You're very welcome! :) And thanks, Lou!

I haven't had much time to spend here lately, but I do try to stop in on occasion and see what everyone is up to. When I'm here, I also try to look at the poem requests. Helps to keep my 'thinker' in condition! :)
