I found in my files a potpourri using pumpkin seeds, but
I thought it would be nice to throw in some dried corn and beans, etc.
and call it Harvest Potpourri. What do you think? I have NOT tried
this yet! If you do please let me know how it turns out and any
changes you suggest because I just made up the amounts for corn and
1 - 2 cups pumpkin seeds
1 T cinnamon
1/2 T allspice
1 T oil
1/2 cup cloves
3 - 4 cinnamon sticks
1 cup dried field corn (or popcorn)
1/2 cup dried lima beans
Real or fake red berries
Optional: Dried berries, dried fruits, etc.
Put cleaned pumpkin seeds in a baking dish.
Add cinnamon, allspice and oil.
Mix well until all seeds are covered.
Bake in a 350° oven, stirring frequently, until golden
brown, approx. 45 minutes.
Add cloves, cinnamon sticks, lima beans, red berries
and any other items that would enhance it.
Label with poem if for a gift.
