Unity Candle

Two tapers usually sit beside a large cake candle and the bride or her family use one of the tapers to light the unity candle as the groom or his family lights it with the other taper.

Often the unity candle is decorated with the invitation or a picture of the couple put on the side of the candle. You can cut it into an oval and then glue and pin it around edges onto the candle and cover edges with glued-on lace and pearls.  Then I thought maybe this poem could be put on the other side.   Add more pearls, bows, etc.

Hint:  You can let the candle burn down until a votive cup will fit into the sunken wick area after it cools.  Then put a votive in the cup and your beautiful candle will keep forever!
